original vintage 1930s/1940s art deco bakelite fan

extraordinary beautiful table fan BY EMI, Utrecht, Holland, made in 1930s / 1940s featuring a deep burgundy marbled bakelite base, switch, and motor housing, and bright brass blades shielded by a decorative art-deco metal cage. The base plate states it is model B384, It also has a hole in the base plate which enables it to be wall mounted. The EMI logo is embossed at the centre of the fan and it stands for: Elektrotechnische Mechanische Industrie (E.M.I.), a Dutch manufacturer founded in 1897 in Utrecht, Holland, known for producing vintage industrial equipment like fans and desk fans. The company's items, such as their cast iron industrial fans and bakelite desk fans, are now highly sought-after collector's items due to their rarity and historical significance. It is in good working order, It seems to have been rewired in recent times, the very only issue is that the switch botton is not working, but the fan stays permanentlely switchen on once attached to a plug. We are using the plug switch to switch it on and off. I haven't opened the shell to inspect the problem, It may be something easy to repair but we have no skills to do it. Height c:a 22 cm.
